Need Some Help?

Below we have listed what we believe will frequently experienced problems. Since Fetch My Music hasn't been up and running for very long, we don't know the answers to every problem or what actual frequently asked questions will be. We do have a FAQ page with what we believe will be common questions. If you need help that is not listed below, or our answers below did not solve your problems, you can send us an e-mail at support@fetchmymusic.com and we will try to give you an answer.

  • The desktop application is not installing. Try to install .NET Framework 3.5 on your computer first, and then reinstall the desktop application again. Also, the desktop application can only run on Windows XP or Windows Vista, and is not compatible with Mac OS.
  • The website will not connect to the Fetch My Music server, even though it is on and connected to the Internet. It is possible that the network you are connected to is blocking communication over the FTP port. Open communication is necessary for Fetch My Music to work properly, and must be configured properly and is outside the control of the Fetch My Music application.
  • The Fetch My Music Desktop Application will not connect. If you put in your correct user name and password and attempt to start the desktop server, but it continously does not connect, you should verify that you have Internet connection and that you have .Net Framework 3.5 installed on your computer. You can download .Net Framework 3.5 from our Downloads page if you need it. It is also possible that the application is being blocked by a firewall or a restriction on communication over the FTP port on your network.
  • Nothing is displayed in my song or playlist lists on the Fetch My Music player. If our player cannot connect to our database because of a poor Internet connection, you may not be able to see any of your songs and playlists. Alternatively, you may not have any song folders added from the Fetch My Music desktop application, and no playlists created.
  • The song does not play, even though I double-click on it/highlight and press play If the Fetch My Music player cannot commmunicate with your desktop computer that holds your song library, then the song will not be able to stream on the website. Check your that your computer is on, connected to the Internet, and the Fetch My Music server is running.
